Question: I have just a little over $4000 left on a student loans, and I have two semester left to complete college. This fall, I am taking additional courses but in the spring I am only taking one or two. Will they offer the remaining of my loans for the fall semester, and I can use my pell grant for the spring or will they split the remaining student loans between the two semesters?
Answer: Chances are they will split the remaining loans between the two semesters, at least many colleges will. You should seek out the student loan counselor at your school so that you can be made aware of all your choices.
Some may even roll all your semesters in together after you’ve completed your College courses. If not, you can always look at using a student loan cosolidation loan to consolidate all your loans into one easy to manage loan.
However, some college students prefer having several smaller loans so they can concentrate on paying off the smaller to larger loans. This isn’t for all college students, but it’s something you should give thought to.
If your college doesn’t offer a repayment plan on the type of student loan you need, then you should think about applying to another college that will help you get the best loan for your personal financial situation.
Few things can be a huge bummer as being drowned in a mountain of
student loan debt as soon as you get out of college!
